Musings and occasional rants from a location in the pacific northwest, where the air is still sweet, the trees tall and old, and we can see the stars in a clear night sky. Is this paradise? No... it's Oregon.

Right knee, two days postop
It's been 25 hours since surgery, and here's the result.... Still swollen (I mean, come on. It's only been 25 hours! Have someone whittle on your knee and see how good it looks the next day!), and still yellow (thanks to some seemingly indelible Betadine that didn't come off in this morning's shower). But overall, I am doing great. Minimal pain-- probably less than I had preop. Slept very well last night. I'm up and walking today (full weight-bearing is encouraged) but am spending most of my time on the couch, with the knee elevated and packed in ice, and will be doing so until Monday. The eight-sided steristrips cover the three suture sets (one for each arthroscopic entry port). PT starts Tuesday.
